At the Sydney Swans AFL Awards night held earlier this month, the Sydney Swans inducted three new life members in to the club in recognition for the impact they have and continue to make on the football club and wider community.

The three new inductees include Sydney Swans match day ground announcer Greg Woodhead and board members Alexandra Goodfellow and Greg Paramor.

Greg Woodhead

For more than a quarter of a century, one voice has become synonymous with Sydney Swans match days.

Greg Woodhead has witnessed a trove of priceless red and white history since taking up his position high in the Brewongle Stand as the resident Sydney Swans match day ground announcer back in 2000.

While players, coaches and teams have evolved over the decades, Greg's presence has remained a constant. His energy, professionalism, warmth and unmistakable voice have welcomed generations of members and supporters through the gates of the SCG.

Greg has witnessed some of the greatest moments in the club's history from his level 7 desk. From Nick Davis' unforgettable heroics in 2005, to Adam Goodes' extraordinary legacy, to the brilliance of Lance Franklin and the next generation of Swans stars.  Since the year 2000, Greg has missed less than a handful of Swans home games – an outstanding commitment.

By 2026, Greg's contribution spans thousands of announcements, hundreds of matches, and countless memories. His passion for the Swans and commitment to delivering a first-class experience have left a lasting mark on the club and its supporters.

“It’s a proud moment for me to be given this accolade. I want to thank the club,” Woodhead said.

“After 27 years, there's not too many times that I haven't walked in or out of the club and not been pleased to be there.”

Alexandra Goodfellow

Since joining the Sydney Swans Board in 2015, Alex has made an outstanding contribution to the club through her leadership, strategic insight and governance expertise.

Drawing on more than three decades of experience in executive search, leadership advisory and board governance, Alex has helped shape the club's growth and long-term success during a period of significant transformation.

A passionate advocate for strong leadership, organisational excellence and sustainable growth, Alex has made a lasting impact through her work across key Board committees, including sponsorship, membership, audit and risk.

Alex also played an important role on the AFLW Steering Committee, helping guide the development and establishment of our women's program and laying foundations that continue to benefit the club today.

Beyond governance, Alex has been a steadfast champion of the people, culture and values that make the Sydney Swans unique. Her commitment to diversity, leadership development and community impact has strengthened both the club and the broader football community.

“[I am] incredibly proud to be part of this club,” Goodfellow said.

“It's an honour to be invited to the board. It is an amazing privilege to watch the men, and the women go out every week.”

Greg Paramor

Since joining the Sydney Swans Board in 2008, Greg has provided the Club with steady leadership, strategic insight, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring the Swans remain strong both on and off the field.

Greg brought to the Club a wealth of experience from a distinguished career spanning more than four decades in property, investment and community service. Throughout his time with the Swans, he has helped guide the Club through periods of growth, transformation, and success, always with a focus on long-term sustainability and responsible leadership.

He was instrumental in the development of the Sellers & Colless Centre.

What has distinguished Greg's contribution is his ability to combine commercial expertise with a genuine commitment to people and community. His passion for strong governance, innovation, and social impact has aligned perfectly with the values that define the Sydney Swans.

Beyond his role on the Board, Greg has also been a valued contributor to the Sydney Swans Foundation, helping to strengthen the Club's capacity to invest in future generations, community programs, and initiatives that extend our impact well beyond football.

Greg's service to the community has been recognised nationally through his appointment as an Officer of the Order of Australia, an honour reflecting a lifetime dedicated to leadership, philanthropy, and creating positive change. The Sydney Swans have been fortunate to benefit from those same qualities throughout his years of service to the Club.

“It's just been an absolute pleasure to be part of this journey, it’s an amazing place,” Paramor said.

"Richard [Colless] said, it'll take you five years to get the hang of it. I'm still getting the hang of it, but I've got a little bit of a grip on it now and it's just been an absolute pleasure.”
