Star forward Lance Franklin has been named at centre half forward in the 2017 All Australian team on Wednesday night.
Franklin has solidified his status as one of the best players of the modern era with his seventh All Australian honour.
The superstar booted 69 goals from 22 games this season as he averaged 13.6 kicks, 3.8 handballs and 6.8 marks.
“It is something you look back on when you finish your career,” Franklin said.
“I am very proud to get another All Australian but as I say it is probably something I will reflect on more when I finish my career.”
Franklin joins an esteemed list of players to have won seven All Australian awards including Stephen Silvagni, Wayne Carey and Nathan Buckley.
Gold Coast Sun’s Gary Ablett Jnr is the only current day player with more All Australian honours to their name currently with eight.
The star forward was also presented with his Coleman Medal earlier in the night by Hawthorn champion goalkicker Jason Dunstall.
He finished the season with 69 goals from his 22 games to claim a record fourth Coleman Medal.
“To win a Coleman Medal any time is pretty special and there has been a lot of hard work to get it,” Franklin said.
“I wouldn’t have been able to win it without my teammates giving me some pretty clean ball on the weekend against Carlton.”
CaptainJosh Kennedy missed out on being named in the final side after earlier thisweek making the 40-man squad released by the league.
