With a sell-out crowd destined for the SCG on Saturday, we’re advising ticket holders to arrive early to ensure you don’t miss a minute of the action.

The Sydney Swans face Essendon in an Elimination Final at 4.20pm Saturday, followed by the NEAFL Grand Final between the Sydney Swans and Brisbane Lions at 7.45pm.

The use of public transport is strongly advised.

AFL General Manager of Broadcasting and Clubs Travis Auld says fans should consider commuting to the game a little earlier than normal.

“We are encouraging fans to leave an extra 20 minutes of commute time to account for both the travel to the match and allowing enough time get into the stadium and to their seats.”

“Security checks will be in place, as they have all year, but the biggest crowds of the year may equate to a slightly longer wait time to get it.” Mr Auld said.

It is recommended fans;

  • Arrive early: Security measures will have an impact on the time taken to admit patrons to stadiums. Please allow an extra 20 minutes and don’t leave your arrival until the last minute.
  • Be patient: Security inspections take time, so please understand it will likely take a little longer to move people into the stadiums.
  • Limit the number of bags you bring: Each bag will be inspected, so the more you bring the longer it will take.
  • Co-operate with staff at all times: Security and event staff are doing an important job, so please help them by co-operating.

Patrons staying to watch the NEAFL Grand Final will need to make their way to the SCG Members Reserve after the final siren of the senior’s match.  It’s important patrons do not exit the venue when moving into the Members Area. Use one of the crossover points noted below:

  • Behind Bay 33 on the Brewongle Concourse
  • Near Gate G, following the Bill O’Reilly Concourse to the end, walking towards the Bradman Stand

For those only attending the NEAFL match, free access will be permitted via SCG Gate A on Driver Avenue from 7:15pm only.

All guests planning to attend the NEAFL Grand Final are encouraged to take public transport as parking will not be available due to the AFL Elimination Final at the SCG and NRL Elimination Final at Allianz Stadium.

Shuttle buses from Moore Park to Central and Circular Quay will run until approximately 10:40pm.
