Sydney Swans midfielder Luke Parker has thanked the loyal and passionate members and fans for their ongoing support throughout the 2016 season.

A record number of viewers watched the 2016 Grand Final to go along with an attendance of 99,987 at the MCG.

It was also a record year of membership for the Swans with 13,208 first year members taking our overall tally to a new record of 56,523 members.

Parker said the support of the fans was greatly appreciated by all of the playing group.

“We love the support that we get in particular in Sydney and Melbourne, they are great fans and so loyal,” Parker said,

“It is disappointing that we couldn’t get a win for our fans and give them the chance to celebrate with us.”

“It is such a long year and you put in such a big effort building up to the season so to have the opportunity to win and not take it is pretty shattering.”

“At the end of the day we move on, look to next year and hopefully we get another opportunity.”

The Club will hold the Bob Skilton Medal at the Star Events Centre on Thursday evening with Parker set to be among the main contenders.

In a season with five All Australians there are set to be a plethora of players who will be in the running to be crowned the 2016 Club Champion.

A live stream of the event will be available for fans to watch online and on the Club’s mobile app from 7pm (AEST) on Thursday night.
