The Sydney Swans have launched a Father & Son/Daughter Academy to develop and connect the children of former players.

The Academy is open to the children of all former Swans players who have played at least 100 games.

Past players Brett Kirk, Rhyce Shaw and Tadhg Kennelly gathered with their children to announce the program at the SCG on Thursday.

The Academy will hold an annual event at the SCG to give children a meaningful experience with the club their fathers played for.

In the years to come it means the children of current players Jarrad McVeigh, Josh Kennedy, Ben McGlynn, Heath Grundy and Ted Richards will all be able to join.
