After a blistering opening quarter which saw the Swans kick seven-goals-to-one against Geelong, the then reigning premiers finished strongly to take the lead in the final moments of the match under lights on a Friday night at the SCG.
Swans substitute Andrejs Everitt stepped up when his team needed it most, kicking a tough set-shot goal from 45 metres out on a slight angle with just 90 seconds remaining on the clock.
A last-gasp tackle by Josh Kennedy ensured a six-point win for the Swans which gave John Longmire’s men plenty of confidence for the remainder of the year.

Nick Smith and Ted Richards were strong in defence while Kieren Jack and Ryan O’Keefe were influential in the midfield.
