Former Sydney Swans player and wellbeing advocate Wayne Schwass has launched a new podcast series to shine a light on mental health.

In Pukaup, Schwass speaks to well-known leaders about their experience of mental health and emotional wellbeing issues, and their work in their chosen fields.

Sydney Swans coach John Longmire features in the second episode, in which the pair discuss the management of players and their emotional wellbeing, as well as reflecting on the days when they played together at North Melbourne.

Other episodes feature former Prime Minister and beyondblue chair Julia Gillard, Olympian Libby Trickett and former Australian of the Year Professor Patrick McGorry.

Schwass said Pukaup is committed to creating environments for every person to be able to talk openly and honestly about mental health, without fear or judgement.

“I’m incredibly passionate about mental health and this podcast will help to normalise these conversations by talking with inspiring people who have overcome their own challenges,” Schwass said.
