Kieren Jack said the Sydney Swans are looking forward to testing their skills against one of the yardsticks of the competition this weekend.

Speaking on 1116 SEN’s The Run Home last night, Jack said taking on Collingwood this Saturday will be one of the Swans’ toughest challenges this season.

“Collingwood this week is a massive test for us,” Jack said.

“We’re not getting carried away with ourselves and we certainly see them as setting the bench mark and we’ll be going after them for sure.”

The Swans’ challenge certainly doesn’t stop this weekend, with the club also set to take on competition heavyweights Hawthorn and Geelong in the final rounds of the home and away season.

Jack said with so much heated competition within the top eight, it was difficult to pick the best side in the AFL at this point.

“I think the competition is really even and I don’t think there is much that separates the four, five or six top teams,” he said.

“Any team on their day can come in and play really well; we’ve just got to make sure we come with the right frame of mind.”

But Jack identified Adelaide and Hawthorn as the toughest competition Sydney had faced so far this season.

“The team that beat us earlier in the year, Adelaide at the SCG, we really rated the way they went about it,” he said.

“Hawthorn are a really quality side as well.”

With four rounds remaining before finals, Jack said the Swans are focused on playing out four quarters of consistent football each week.

After surviving strong opposition comebacks in wins over Essendon and Geelong earlier this year, Jack said keeping up the intensity for full games is the Swans’ focus for the remainder of the season.

“I think it’s a real mentality thing,” he said

“Certainly when we were starting well it was great and we were jumping out of the blocks and playing really well, but it’s about making sure we don’t get into that mindset trap of trying to hold onto a lead.

“I think that’s crept into it a little bit, and that’s when sides get a run on and start getting confidence and kicking goals and getting back into the game.

“We’ve got to make sure that if we start well that we just continue to play the way we had been doing and not try and hold the lead, but try and go for broke and have a foot-on-the-throat-type mentality and dig it in.”

Meanwhile, Swans ruckman Shane Mumford told 2UE's Sports Today program last night that he was looking forward to a blockbuster atmosphere at ANZ Stadium this weekend.

“We haven’t been able to beat (Collingwood) for a long time now and I don’t know what it is and I’ve played against them once or twice, but they’re just a great side with a lot of talent and it’s going to take our best to beat them on the weekend,” he said.

“So it’s going to be a finals-like atmosphere at a finals-like intensity, so it would be get to get the red and white army out there to support us.”
