THE Sydney Swans and QBE are pleased to announce the extension of their principal partnership until at least the end of 2019.

The Swans and QBE have one of Australian sport’s most enduring partnerships, with the insurance company currently in its 28th year as principal partner of the Club.

As part of the partnership, QBE will continue its support of the QBE Sydney Swans Academy.

QBE has been principal partner of the QBE Sydney Swans Academy since its inception in 2010.

Sydney Swans CEO Andrew Ireland said the Club was excited to continue one of the longest partnerships in Australian sport.

“QBE have been on board with the Swans for 28 years now, and this extension will see our partnership continue into a 33rd year, which is unique not only Australia, but in world sport,” Ireland said.

“We are proud of our association with QBE and are really excited that they are committed to not only backing the Swans at the elite level, but also supporting the QBE Sydney Swans Academy at grass roots level.

“With the support of QBE, the QBE Sydney Swans Academy is engaging hundreds of young footballers in an elite training environment, and developing the game across Sydney and greater New South Wales.

“We have shared many successes, both on and off the field over the past 28 years and we look forward to many more."

Colin Fagen, CEO of QBE Australia & New Zealand said:

“The extension of our partnership with the Swans will see us celebrate a milestone 33 years together, a relationship that will be older than many of the Swans players themselves!" Fagen said.

"What is particularly special about our partnership is our shared passion for a culture of excellence on and off the field.

"We are incredibly proud of the QBE Sydney Swans Academy and its role in attracting and developing talent, which will contribute strongly to the ongoing success of the AFL.

"Our commitment to the development of future generations and leaders is as important in AFL as it is throughout all of our community.

"Together we have celebrated some magnificent successes and we look forward to being beside the Swans for many more."
