Bio

In a career which began in 1992 and drew to its close a decade later, Andrew Dunkley established himself as one of the best full-backs of his era. Regularly asked to play on the best forwards of the day – Ablett, Dunstall and Carey – his judgement and strong marking enabled him to get the better of them on most occasions. He was runner-up to Club Champion in 1996, the year the Swans contested their first grand final in more than fifty years. For many years he was vice-captain to Paul Kelly, and was one of the senior players around whom the Club rebuilt itself in the mid-1990s. When he retired at the end of 2002, he had played 217 games and kicked 11 goals in the red and white.
