Bio 

The son of 1909 premiership player Bill Thomas, Len Thomas represented South Melbourne from 1927 to 1938, playing 187 games and kicking 56 goals. Best and Fairest in 1931 and 1938, he played in the centre and was named among South’s best players in the 1933 premiership team. He captained the Club in 1938. Following his career with the Swans, he had brief associations with Hawthorn in 1939 and North Melbourne in 1940, before retiring from football to take up military service. Tragically, he was killed in action in New Guinea on 17th August 1943.
