You may have noticed I dislocated my shoulder last Saturday night against the Lions.

It was a bit gruesome to watch, and I know my little sister, Alice, who was watching back home in Melbourne, got a bit upset. But the next day when she knew I was all right, she kept replaying it over and over!

What happened was I marked the ball and Josh Drummond pushed me so all my momentum was already going forward and then I fell on the ground and my arm stretched out and almost hyper extended. As soon as I hit the ground I knew I was in a bit of strife.

I was obviously in pain - it’s fair to say it was pretty uncomfortable and not the best feeling in the world!  But then our doctor, Nathan Gibbs, rushed out and popped it back in.

As soon as he did that I just wanted to get back out there straight away. It was a bit sore but once it got strapped up and the adrenalin kicks in, you don’t think about it as much and want to help your team out. And our medical staff are sensational.

The flexibility of the joint wasn’t great but once I was out there I didn’t feel any different, I was running around and we were going well, so that made me feel better. Being able to contribute was a good feeling.

And then when Braddy kicked his massive goal, there was not one ounce of pain! I was walking back to the huddle, not thinking it was going to go through, just getting ready for the coach’s address, and it sailed through the air and kept going. I was shocked as much as anyone and ran over there with all the other boys and was going off my head.

It got me up and everyone was pretty pumped. It gave us huge momentum and a big boost going into the last quarter. Everyone was gritting their teeth. Guys were limping and hobbling but they couldn’t come off, and we were all so determined to hold Brisbane out and get the win. It was a great win to be part of.

The shoulder has been pretty good this week, and I’m getting the range of motion back. But we’re taking a conservative approach, so I probably won’t be going to Geelong this week.
