It has been a tough couple of weeks and it certainly makes writing a blog a lot harder.

Originally my thoughts were to write about something that had nothing to do with football, but the truth is there is so much to be learnt in times like these, both about ourselves, and each other.

It shows how quickly AFL can turn….only two weeks being five (wins) and one (loss) and on top of the ladder, to now being five-three. Two weeks feels like two years when that happens.

However it is important to remember that it was only two weeks ago, and if the last couple of weeks have taught us that things can change quickly, then they can also change for the better.

So I guess now it’s about focusing on the positives to try to re-capture the form from the first five rounds.

As for the positives, they are simple. The football we have played recently has been nowhere near the standard which we believe we’re capable of. So we think if we play to our capabilities, we can still match it with the best sides in the league.

Hence the need to get back to the basics, to build the necessary steps needed to win back the respect from the AFL community.

We knew what made us such a competitive side for the first six rounds, yet for some reason we have shied away from that in the last two weeks, which is disappointing.

However the good thing about AFL is that, unless it is the last round of the season, within six to eight days a new challenge arises and every team has a chance - to answer the critics.

We want to do that, and we will strive, as we always do,  and of course as every team does, to leave our stamp on the competition.
