Reserves look for win at Manuka
The Sydney Swans reserves will look to get back on the winner’s list against Belconnen in Canberra tomorrow…
The Sydney Swans reserves will field their strongest line-up in recent weeks, with several senior players returning off the back of last weekend’s bye to face Belconnen at Manuka Oval tomorrow afternoon.
Matt Spangher, Jed Lamb, Gary Rohan, Campbell Heath and Brett Meredith are all set to return to the field after varying periods on the sidelines due to injury.
Spangher and Lamb will feature in an all senior-listed forward line, alongside Paul Bevan, Jarred Moore, Jesse White and the Eastern Conference’s leading goalkicker, Trent Dennis-Lane, who will get some much needed match practice after an injury interrupted few months.
Rohan will compete in just his second game since April 16 after undergoing an athroscope on his knee and a subsequent hamstring injury upon his return on July 2. Lamb will play his first game since April 29 after a run of hamstring injuries.
The Swans reserves will also receive a boost from several of the regular 2011 top-up players who are returning from injury and state duties. Make sure you re-check sydneyswans.com.au later this afternoon as Swans reserves coach Henry Playfair and development coach Jared Crouch highlight the top-up players who have featured throughout 2011.
After winning the first 11 games of the season, the Swans reserves have lost two of their last three games, against Gold Coast and GWS, respectively.
In the only meeting between the two sides this year, the Swans recorded a 109-point victory over Belconnen at the SCG in round 3.
