The Sydney Swans are looking forward to the opportunity to test themselves against one of the best teams in the competition on Sunday afternoon.

In the final match of the season, the Swans will take on the fourth-placed Geelong at Metricon Stadium.

Co-captain Luke Parker said despite being out of the finals race, there is still plenty that can be gained from Sunday’s match against the Cats.

“We still have in our mind that we have one more game left, and in it, an opportunity to really test ourselves against a top side who are again going to be competing deep into the finals,” Parker said.

“The match is a chance for us to set ourselves up to have a really positive mindset heading into next year.

“We have a seven-day break, which is good, so I think as a team we have time to have a few meetings to talk about the hub experience, talk about the steps we have taken, and where we need to get better.”

As the season comes to a close, Parker said it’s important to acknowledge the amazing support the club has received during what has been a challenging year.

“We have so many members throughout Australia,” Parker said.

“We absolutely appreciate the support that they have been able to give us all year, despite not being able to be at too many games.

“When they have been there we have felt that love, and we hope that we have done them proud as we continue to grow. Hopefully we will be right up the top next year.”

Sunday’s match against Geelong at Metricon Stadium begins at 3:35pm and will be broadcast live and FREE on Channel Seven around the country.
