After taking us through his defensive line-up for the 2012 season, Swans defender and Dream Team aficionado Marty Mattner returns this week to take us through his midfield and ruck department.

Marty's identified the midfield as the place to score the big points and has invested heavily. He's also gone through the league with a fine tooth comb to try and find some young bargains who he hopes will play regularly and boost his points tally and budget.

In this second instalment for SwansTV, Marty takes us through his midfield line and who he’s banking on in the ruck to win him some big points. Here is who Marty currently has in his midfield and rucks for the beginning of the season:

Mids:

Scott Pendlebury, Collingwood ($576,900) - “Quality midfielder who scores big in Dream Team, probably a regular captain.”

Matthew Boyd, Western Bulldogs ($573,800) and Gary Ablett, Gold Coast Suns ($554, 700) - “Two other gun midfielders who score heavily. Those three (Pendlebury, Boyd and Ablett) will probably be in the rotation of captain every week.”

Lenny Hayes, St Kilda ($382,800) - “Got injured last year and dropped in value a lot, but another high scorer. I tried to get him in there because he’s good value at $382,000”

Stephen Coniglio, GWS ($175,200), Chad Wingard, Port Adelaide ($157,200), Anthony Morabito, Fremantle ($168,000) and Dylan Shiel, GWS ($104,200) - “I’ve just gone for a lot of young kids, some good draft picks, and also players who I think are going to play a lot of footy and increase in value. Those four are all good value, all good draft picks and hopefully they’ll increase in value at the start of the season.”

Rucks:

Dean Cox, West Coast Eagles ($532,000) - “I’ve had him the last few years, he’s a good scorer, so hopefully he’ll keep going on this year. I did have him captain a few times last year as well, so he’s a quality player.”

Hamish McIntosh ($273,500) - “Got injured last year and missed a lot of last season, so hopefully this year he’ll come back and score heavily.”

Jonathan Giles, GWS ($117,800) and Orren Stephenson, Geelong Cats ($98,700) - “On the bench I’ve gone for two good value players. Two sort of mature aged players who’ll hopefully get a lot of game time for their respective teams and will hopefully score heavily.”
