The Sydney Swans VFL side will face the Gold Coast Suns on Saturday at Lakeside Oval in Sydney.

Due to the ongoing Covid situation in Melbourne, VFL matches will only be played in NSW between non-Victorian teams this weekend as the AFL continues to navigate through a moving fixture to ensure games are played.

The Swans side will boast 15-listed players and will look to even the ledger with the Suns after the Gold Coast side got the points in their Round 2 match at Metricon Stadium, victorious by 14 points.

The Swans will also be looking to bounce back after going down in a close match against Southport last Saturday.

Coach Jeremy Laidler admitted that his side was made to rue some missed opportunities late in the contest against Southport but says this weekend presents a perfect chance to get their season back on track.

"I thought overall we had control of the game, it was just different patches throughout the game where we were really disappointing," Laidler said.

"We will look at that and look at the individual stuff on how we can get better but we need to respond against Gold Coast because they beat us last time and we were quite disappointed in that performance.

"We're so close (to a strong four-quarter effort) but I guess that's the challenge with a young group and new group getting together. We just want that consistency in our performances."

The match commences at 11.05am and will be broadcast live on Kayo Freebies.
