The Sydney Swans recruited James Rowbottom with their second selection at the 2018 AFL Draft and the midfield bull made an impact from the get-go. The Oakleigh Chargers product made his AFL debut against Richmond at Marvel Stadium. In 2022 the young Swan played all but one senior game and finished with a season average of six tackles and a total of 443 disposals. His impressive performance was honoured at the end of the season with the Peter Bedford Trophy. It’s safe to say Rowbottom is a ball magnet, explosive at the stoppages, an outstanding tackler and a clean user of the footy.
