The Sydney Swans welcomed key defender Jai Serong to the club in a trade completed with Hawthorn on the final day of the 2025 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period. Serong, who hails from the Victorian town of Inverloch, was originally taken with pick 53 in the 2021 AFL draft from the Gippsland Power. He has played 10 games with the Hawks over the past three seasons and was this year named in the VFL Team of the Year.
