With pick 53 in the 2023 AFL Draft, the Sydney Swans welcomed Brisbane Lions Academy and Allies representative Patrick Snell to the senior side. At 194cm Snell originally played forward but moved to the backline and earned a State Draft Combine invite off the back of good form. He was also member of the 2023 championship winning Allies team he entered the side with Allies teammates Caiden Cleary and Indhi Kirk. Snell has experienced setbacks due to injury and will be looking to make his senior debut in 2026.
