Paris McCarthy hails from Ireland and was one of three cross-code athletes to join the Sydney Swans in 2023. McCarthy played Division One Basketball for East Tennessee State University on a full scholarship in 2022 and has represented Ireland throughout her development years (U16, 18, 20) before earning selection in the 2022 All-Ireland Team. Before making the move to Australia she played Gaelic football for Kerry County seamlessly transferring her skills to suit AFLW. She impressed early on as a rookie and earned team selection for six games, including the finals series.
