Taylor Smith joined the Swans ahead of the 2026 season after a trade was completed with the Brisbane Lions. Having only been playing football for two years after first giving the sport a go in high school, Smith quickly climbed the ranks at the Gold Coast SUNS Academy before earning a selection for the Queensland Under 18 team. Joining the Lions in 2021, Smith has gone on to win two Premierships with the Lions (‘21, ’23) and the AFLW goal-kicking award in 2024, as well as being selected in the All-Australian team in the same season.
