Ruby Sargent-Wilson was the first player on the Swans women's list. She grew up in the Illawarra region on the south coast of New South Wales and is a natural born athlete previously representing NSW in touch football, netball, and AFL. In just her fifth AFL game in 2018, she was voted best player at the School Sports Australia Championship. The Southern Power product joined the QBE Sydney Swans Academy in 2021 and represented the Swans in the inaugural Under-19 series. She was part of the team to nab the club’s first ever AFLW win and went on to appear in four more games in the 2023 season.
