Sydney Swans forward Lance Franklin has reached a monumental milestone, kicking his 1000th goal in today's (Friday March 25) Sydney Swans Round 2 clash at the SCG with Geelong.

With Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin's incredible feat, he joins Tony Lockett, Gordon Coventry, Jason Dunstall, Doug Wade and Gary Ablett Sr as the leading goal-kickers in AFL history. The 1000-Goal men.

Beginning his 17th season in 2022, Franklin required five goals at the start of the year to join the illustrious group.
