Sydney Swans midfielder Chad Warner has polled nine votes for the AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award following the side’s Round 17 victory over the Western Bulldogs.

After polling eight votes in Round 16, Warner has backed up his strong performance with another memorable game in the Swans 53-point victory and led the way with five other Swans polling votes.

Warner finished the game with 2 goals, 25 disposals, 4 tackles, 4 clearances, 11 inside-50s and 10 scoring involvements. 

In just his 30th AFL game, Warner dominated to poll the most votes alongside his Swans teammates. 

Tom Papley polled strongly with eight votes following a two goal, 24 disposal, 15 contested possessions, three tackles and 17 scoring involvements.

Sam Reid (6 votes - 15 disposals, 13 tackles, 25 hit outs, 7 clearances, three intercepts), Paddy McCartin (4 votes - 22 disposals, 9 intercepts), Isaac Heeney (2 votes - 4 goals, 17 disposals, 2 tackles) and Callum Mills (1 vote - 23 disposals, 1 goal, 16 tackles) also polled votes.
