Sydney Swans speedster Harry Cunningham will return from injury in a clash with Essendon at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.

Cunningham will play his first game since tearing his adductor in Sydney’s match against the Brisbane Lions in Round 7, with the 25-year-old replacing injured ruckman Callum Sinclair (shoulder).

Sydney coach John Longmire said Cunningham’s selection would give the side a major boost.

“It’s good to get him back in the team,” Longmire told QBE Team Selection.

“He was one of our better players over the start of the year before he got injured. He’s been doing a power of work, he’s really fit, he’s a great two-way runner and it’s good to have him back playing at the MCG.”
