Sydney Swans sister act, Alexia and Cynthia Hamilton have loved their first season in the red and white together and enjoyed every minute of playing for the club they grew up supporting.

The sister duo originally from Queanbeyan have impressed in the Swans side this season and are relishing their opportunity to play alongside each other.

The elder of the pair, Alexia, said she was incredibly grateful to be playing alongside her sister. The 22-year old defender had stints at the Gold Coast Suns and the Kangaroos before joining the Swans for their first season, alongside her younger sister.

"We really lean on each other for support and feedback, helping each other grow on and off the field," Alexia said.

"The achievements we share together are incredible and to have the same person alongside you for the journey is truly special. Not only is Cynthia my sister, but she’s also my best friend."

18-year old Cynthia, was touted as one of the top 2022 Draft talents from NSW/ACT and the lively forward has shone in her debut season at senior level. She said having her older sister with her every step of the way has been special.

"Lexi inspires me on and off the field, she truly brings out the best in me," Cynthia said.

"Not many people get to say they get to play professional sport with their sibling so it's amazing to play alongside her"

The Swans, who have come close to victory on several occasions this season with heartbreaking losses to Essendon and Hawthorn, take on Geelong in the final round of the club's inaugural season this Saturday evening in Geelong.

"We have been focusing on internal KPI’s and getting the little things right, which we have been able to execute over the last few weeks," Alexia said.

"We have enormous confidence in playing the game style we want to achieve. We have been developing so much as a team, and we are really only starting to show glimpses of what we’re truly capable of."
