A highlight of the Melbourne Events calendar, the Sydney Swans Legends Lunch, will return in June.

Following the success of the event in recent years, which has featured Swans greats Jared Crouch, Leo Barry, Michael O’Loughlin, Paul Roos and Brett Kirk, this year’s event will recognise the careers and contributions of former Swans’ stars Craig Bolton and Tadgh Kennelly.

Bolton joined the Swans in 2003 after beginning his AFL career with the Brisbane Lions. The highly-regarded defender went on to play in the 2005 premiership team, and served as co-captain of the club from 2008-2010.

Kennelly, who came to the club as a 17-year old via the rookie draft, played 190 games for the Swans, including the 2005 premiership. To date, Kennelly remains the only Irish-born player to have won a premiership medallion.

Both players retired from the game in 2011, with injury forcing Bolton’s hand and Kennelly making the decision to hang up his boots at the end of the season.

Hosted by Peter ‘Grubby’ Stubbs, Sydney Swans’ fan will have the opportunity to learn more about both players and their time at the club, and where their careers at the Swans have taken them after football.

Australian media personality, sports commentator and former North Melbourne champion Sam Kekovich will be in attendance to entertain guests at the event.

The Sydney Swans Legends Lunch will include a two course meal with beer, wine and soft drinks.

There will also be a raffle and silent auction on the day.
