We’re thrilled to confirm that AFLW star Chloe Molloy has committed to the Sydney Swans on a long-term deal, ahead of the club’s second season in the competition.

Since making her debut for Collingwood in 2018, Molloy has been a consistent performer. The 24-year-old has won the AFLW Rising Star, the Magpie’s Best and Fairest, earned two All Australian jumpers and booted 37 goals from 47 games.

Molloy expressed gratitude for the opportunities she’s had so far, and said she’s excited to be moving to the Harbour City.

"Special is definitely a word that comes to mind, and grateful as well. I've had six seasons in the AFLW, and if I'm being honest, I never pictured myself in the red and white, but have to admit it does look good," Molloy said.

"I think the way I was evolving as a player and as a person, it lead me to Sydney, and I was really drawn to the Swans.

"I'm eternally grateful for Collingwood and how they turned me into a person that I'm proud to be.”

Sydney Swans Executive General Manager – AFLW, Kate Mahony, said she’s pleased to welcome a player of Molloy's calibre.

"We're incredibly excited about Chloe joining the club. She is not only an incredible athlete, but she brings plenty of energy and enthusiasm, which will fit perfectly into what we're trying to build here amongst the playing group," Mahony said.

"We still have a young squad who are coming off their first season in the AFLW, so having someone with Chloe's experience will prove invaluable in our second year in the competition."

Sydney’s AFLW coach Scott Gowans said he’s looking forward to reuniting with Molloy, after the pair formed a connection during his tenure as an assistant coach at Collingwood.

"Chloe has proven to be amongst the top echelon of players in the AFLW competition in recent years, and she will set a great example on and off the field for our club moving forward," Gowans said.

"One thing I enjoy most about Chloe is her work ethic, and I think her desire to compete and improve will have a profound impact on those around her.”

Chloe's signing comes on the first day of the AFLW Priority Sign and Trade period, which will run from March 1- 8, before the Sign and Trade period from March 10 - 20 for the remaining clubs looking to bolster their playing stocks.
