Senior Coach John Longmire fronted the media after the side's narrow two point loss against Port Adelaide at the SCG.

On the game

It looked as though we had the momentum, they got two free kick goals and then we lost the momentum. Losing two key defenders before half time wasn’t ideal. We felt like we did a lot right, our pressure and intensity were up, we had 22 more inside 50s. Their ability to convert inside 50 compared to ours was part of it. They were able to take marks off our entry, our entries were a bit untidy and we weren’t as efficient going forward as they were.

Their pressure was good, our pressure was good, it was an intense game. Our effort, intensity and shape were good but the final piece of the puzzle going forward, we weren’t able to execute.

On Paddy McCartin

We just removed him from the game, we made a decision, he didn't’ get a test. He is OK, I just spoke to him, I think just after the game, let's take a deep breath.

On Ollie Florent

I thought he was terrific, there were some boys that played really lifted in important times of the game and gave us a chance, like Chad (Warner) and Nick (Blakey).

Ollie didn’t obviously kick it as far as he would have liked. He was probably exhausted. His second half running was outstanding when we were down a rotation, he just kept running and running and running. They played big minutes those boys being one down so he might not have had the legs in him.

On Pete Ladhams

I thought he did some good things, there were times during the game where he really lifted.
