The Sydney Swans VFL team has been confirmed for their Round 15 blockbuster at the SCG - a curtain-raiser to the AFL fixture that will see a double-header of footy against Geelong Cats.

Ryan Clarke will make a return to the VFL after his two-goal performance against West Coast last weekend, while Tom McCartin has again been named to don the red and white after he made a welcome return in Round 15 against Collingwood with 24 disposals.

Jack Buller has been named after kicking eight goals across his first two VFL appearances, while Joel Crocker returns alongside debutant Byron Laws after he earned a Rising Star Nomination in the Sydney AFL competition for Manly Warringah Wolves.

Despite a disappointing defeat to Collingwood last weekend, the Swans can take confidence from their character-building performance that saw them chase an early four-goal deficit in the first-half.

Caleb Mitchell and Dylan Stephens had strong showings with 23 and 24 disposals respectively, while Lachlan Rankin's tackle (5) pressure inside the Swans defensive 50m was immense.

Five goals in the final term were to no avail, but the invaluable experience gained amongst a youthful playing squad will put them in perfect stead midway through the season.

The Swans have been made to rue a devastating injury list that has seen the likes of Jordan Endemann and captain Will Collis sidelined for extended periods, and blood some young talent from the QBE Sydney Swans Academy.

They will look to get their season back on track as they feature on the SCG for just the second time in season 2023.

Members and fans are encouraged to arrive to the ground early to show their support, while all the action will also be live streamed free via the AFL website, AFL Live Official App and VFL App.
