Sydney Swans young star Errol Gulden has tonight been named in the All-Australian team for the first time.

The 21-year old QBE Sydney Swans Academy product becomes one of the youngest ever Sydney Swans players to earn All-Australian selection.

Gulden, who is just in his third year of AFL, earned his first blazer through consistent standout performances in 2023 with his elite running ability and kicking skills at the forefront of his game, giving All-Australian selectors no choice but to pick him on the wing.

He played all 23 games this season, kicking 20 goals and averaging 27 disposals with 64.5% disposal efficiency. Adding to that he averaged 10 contested possessions, 4 clearances, 1.3 centre clearances, 5 tackles and 6.2 inside 50s for the season. He was also ranked number one across the league for metres gained.

Gulden has already claimed two individual awards this season, winning his first Brett Kirk Medal in the Swans Sydney Derby win over the Giants in Round 21 with 32 disposals and two goals. He also won best on ground honours, taking home the Gun Shell Gallantry Trophy against West Coast in the Swans record breaking win, kicking three goals to go alongside his 33 disposals.

He registered over 35+ disposals in four games: v Collingwood (39 diposals), v Fremantle (37 disposals and 2 goals), v Essendon (37 disposals and 1 goal). He also rounded out the home and away season with a personal best 42 disposals and two goals against Melbourne last Sunday at the SCG.

Sydney Swans Coach John Longmire was only recently asked about Gulden's impact this season and noted at how hard the 21-year old works at his craft.

"He's just got a great mix, he always has. He works really hard at his game," Longmire told

"He watches opposition vision, he's all over stuff, he contributes in meetings, always has, he trains as hard as any player and he runs hard and works hard on game day.

"They're the things he does, and he's got a bit of talent as well, but he doesn't rely upon that. He works super hard."
