Rising Sydney Swans duo Tom Papley and George Hewett polled votes for the AFL Coaches’ Association’s Champion Player of the Year award after Saturday’s loss to the Brisbane Lions.

Small forward Papley posted five votes for his 18 disposals and four goals at the Gabba, including an AFL Goal of the Year nomination, while midfielder Hewett earned one vote for his 34 possessions.

Papley is in competition with Adelaide’s Eddie Betts and Collingwood’s Adam Treloar for the Round 7 AFL Goal of the Year award, and the public can lodge their votes HERE.

Papley was also selected for AFL.com.au's Round 7 Team of the Week.
