Robbie Fox is no stranger to taking out a Sydney Swans pre-season time trial and the 29-year old once again showed his elite athletic ability on Monday morning in the Swans 2km time trial.

Fox stormed home ahead of new draftee and former QBE Swans Academy athlete Caiden Cleary who finished second in his first AFL level pre-season time trial, with Justin McInerney not too far behind in third place.

The time trial took place at Centennial Park ahead of the team's first main training session as a full squad with senior players returning after their break today.

It was a fast pace with Jake Lloyd, Nick Blakey, Braeden Campbell, Will Edwards, Matt Roberts and Justin McInerney all recording significant personal bests.

Last week the 1-4 year players began pre-season with recent draftees Will Green, Patrick Snell, Caiden Cleary and Indhi Kirk getting their first taste of training at AFL level.

New recruits Brodie Grundy, Taylor Adams, James Jordan and Joel Hamling also featured in sessions last week for the first time in their new colours.

Players will have a two-week training block before breaking for Christmas and then getting back into preparations in the New Year.

The countdown to the 2024 season is well and truly on and Sydney are opening the season as part of the AFL's Opening Round, facing Melbourne on Thursday March 7 at the SCG.

Season 2024 also marks our 150th birthday, so ensure your place at our season opener and join in the celebrations next season by becoming a Sydney Swans Member today.
