After becoming the first professional sporting club to have a float in the Mardi Gras Parade in 2018, the Sydney Swans will continue to show their support by taking part in one of the biggest events on the LGBTIQA+ calendar and will proudly march in an eighth consecutive Mardi Gras parade this Saturday night.
Representing the club in the march will be Sydney Swans players, past-players and staff, corporate partners including the club’s new Official Pride Partner Adora Fertility. This new partnership provides an opportunity to bring fertility conversations to the forefront, especially in helping LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples explore their family-building options.
Alongside Adora Fertility, Principal Partner QBE, representatives from the AFL, the Rainbow Swans (the club’s official LGBTIQA+ supporter group) and Nikita Iman will also march as part of the Sydney Swans group.
Executive General Manager- People and Culture, Scott Dalby said the club was proud to be a leader in LGBTIQA+ visibility and inclusivity by once again taking part in the Mardi Gras Parade.
“Visibility is such an important factor in the wellbeing and self-esteem of LGBTIQA+ youth,” Dalby said.
“Our participation in Mardi Gras, along with the delivery of our Diversity Action Plan, wouldn’t be possible without the support of Pride Partner Adora Fertility and Principal Partner QBE.”
“We are very grateful and look forward to having them join us and our loyal Rainbow Swans supporter group, as we march on Saturday night.”
