The Sydney Swans VFL side is set to take on the GWS Giants on Sunday afternoon. VFL Head Coach Jarrad McVeigh has made five changes to the team that will appear on the SCG in a curtain closer.

The team will be bolstered by AFL-listed players, Peter Ladhams and Tom Hanily, who return after stints in the AFL, while VFL-listed players Lachie Hunter, Pierce Roseby and Cameron Este have also been added to the side.

Sydney will be without midfielder Angus Sheldrick and tall Joel Hamling, their impressive form in the VFL last week earning them selection in the senior side, while defender Patrick Snell will miss the clash with illness.

Young Swans Caleb Mitchell and Will Edwards have been named, while Blake Leidler, Ned Bowman, Will Green, Jack Buller and Indhi Kirk round out the AFL-listed players set to run out for the Swans.

Captain Nic Shipley has been named in the starting midfield as he continues his strong form, coming off 24 touches and seven tackles against the Gold Coast last week.

Mitchell (19 touches), Buller (10 touches, one goal) and Edwards (17 touches) will be ones to watch this weekend after they performed strongly in Round 5.

The VFL will kick off on the SCG from 4.35pm following Sydney Derby XXX
