The AFL's Sir Doug Nicholls Round is about celebrating Aboriginal culture and excellence—and the Sydney Swans are proud to play a leading role in giving visibility to this.
As a founding partner of the Goodes O’Loughlin (GO) Foundation, the Swans have been at the heart of GO’s mission since day one, supporting its scholarship education programs and major initiatives, including their status as match day partners for the annual Marn Grook game.
This year, during Sir Doug Nicholls Round, the Swans are backing GO in its goal to raise $250,000—funding that will empower more Indigenous students to achieve their dreams.
About GO Foundation
Founded by Sydney Swans legends Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin 16 years ago, the GO Foundation is dedicated to unlocking opportunity for Indigenous young people through education. With scholarships supporting students from primary school to tertiary level across Sydney, Adelaide, and Canberra, GO’s holistic program keeps culture at its core—building resilience, inspiration, and confidence.
Since its inception, GO has awarded more than 1,900 scholarships, currently supporting nearly 650 students. Over 60% of scholarships go to Indigenous girls, ensuring young women thrive and become leaders within their communities. Whether it’s transitioning from primary to high school, excelling in university, or taking on leadership roles, GO’s students are making a lasting impact.
