The Sydney Swans will be bolstered by four big ins for their clash with Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

Sydney announced earlier today that All-Australian Errol Gulden would feature in his first game of 2025, the midfielder set to be joined by electric forward Tom Papley who also returns from injury.

Papley has been sidelined since the club's Round 3 bye with a heel injury.

Speaking to Sydney Swans Media, senior coach Dean Cox said the duo would be a welcome boost for the team.

"They've had a really strong and intense training block so we expect them to come in and perform and play their role," Cox said.

"They've been training as hard as they possibly can and throughout that period as well, learning a lot about game situations that we need to try and manage a little bit better, so hopefully they can bring that experience as well."

Sydney will also welcome back tall Joel Amartey from suspension and hard-working defender Matt Roberts who missed the side's win over Richmond in Round 13 due to illness.

Cox said Amartey would provide a strong presence up forward.

"I think this will be his second game in about 10 weeks, and the importance he does have is presenting at the footy," Cox said.

"Obviously he has a massive presence ahead of the ball and draws the attention of our ball carriers.

"So it's something we need to make sure that obviously he can do, Hayden McLean can do, Will Haywood and the like, but he's really important for the way we structure up."

Port Adelaide v Sydney Swans

Round 15

Adelaide Oval, Adelaide • SA

Midfielder Taylor Adams comes out of the side, after it was confirmed he would miss four to six weeks with a hamstring strain.

Jake Lloyd, Corey Warner and Tom Hanily have been omitted, with Lloyd and Hanily named on the emergency list alongside Peter Ladhams.

Port Adelaide will enter the match off back-to-back wins, including a 25-point win over Melbourne at home last week.

Cox said his side was eyeing greater consistency in their style of play on Saturday.

"They're (Port Adelaide) sort of building into some really consistent form, they've taken on a couple of teams following their bye and performed really well.

"We haven't won at Port Adelaide for a while, we need to get over there and do our best.

"I think one thing the players have done over their break is shown that we are on the improve, we're starting to play a little bit more consistently with the way we want to, so we'll have to do it again."

Sydney takes on Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Saturday from 4.15pm AEST.
