Hard working midfielder Angus Sheldrick has recommitted to the Sydney Swans for a further two seasons, keeping him in the red and white until at least the end of 2027.
Sheldrick, who was taken with pick 18 in the 2021 draft from Claremont in Perth, has played 25 games at the highest level, including 16 this season under new coach Dean Cox.
The 21-year-old has averaged 19 disposals and six tackles in 2025, highlighted by a 26-disposal outing against Melbourne at the MCG in Round 11.
Sydney Swans Executive General Manager Football – AFL, Leon Cameron, said he is pleased to have secured Sheldrick for at least a further two seasons.
“Angus has had an excellent 2025 so far, having played 16 games so we are really hoping he continues to develop into a good AFL footballer,” Cameron said.
“His form at VFL level has always been excellent and we are now seeing him take the next step into cementing a regular spot in the senior side.
“Angus is a terrific person and a popular member of the playing group so we are very glad he will be with the club until 2027,” Cameron said.
Sheldrick said he’s thankful for the opportunity to continue his career at the Swans.
“It means a lot that the club has shown faith in me by offering me another contract – I’m incredibly grateful. When my manager came to me about a month ago and said the Swans have offered you another contract, I was keen to get it signed,” Sheldrick said.
“It’s been great to bring some consistency to my game over the past few months, and I am working hard to continue to grow and improve.
“The team has been really supportive and we’re a close-knit group. A lot of us have signed on, so it’s really exciting to see what we might be able to do together.”
