The Sydney Swans have made three changes for Sunday's Marn Grook clash at Henson Park.

Forward Rebecca Privitelli is among the inclusions, while Sarah Grunden and Lexi Hamilton will line up in their first game of the season.

Sydney Swans v GWS GIANTS

Round 6

Henson Park, Sydney • NSW

As confirmed on Tuesday, midfielder Sofia Hurley will miss the match with foot soreness, while first-year players Amelia Martin and Caitlin Reid have been omitted.

Speaking to Sydney Swans Media, Gowans said Privitelli and Hamilton would provide needed height at Henson Park.

“Henson Park's a unique ground and we feel as though we need to get a little bit more forward territory and follow the ball up forward and bringing two talls in with Priv and Lexi will help that,” Gowans said.

“It also gives gives us a third option for the ruck if we want to do that as well and Fremantle are quite strong in that area.”

Gowans said Grunden’s strong form in scrimmage matches had earnt the call up to the senior side.

“Sarah Grunden's just been waiting her turn, we’ve been going fairly well, so it's just hard to break into the side and she's waited her turn,” Gowans said.

“She's played some really good scrimmage and she's been training well and, you know, unfortunate for Soph, but it allows us to bring Sarah in.”

Alice Mitchell has been named in the backline ahead of her 25th game milestone, while Darcy Moloney will line up in her 50th match.

“You forget how young Alice is, but 25 is a good milestone for her as well and I'm sure there will be plenty more football ahead, but that aggression and just attack on the foot is what we love,” Gowans said.

“Over the pre-season, Darcy's come in, she's fitted in so well and she's a live wire around the place and just a great personality and it's a credit to her.”

The game coincides with AFLW's Indigenous Round and the side will wear the club’s Marn Grook guernsey to recognise and celebrate Indigenous players, culture and their contribution to the game.
