In this week's edition of Tanya's Take, presented by Bird in Hand, assistant coach Tanya Hetherington shares her perspective on the side's back-to-back losses and gives an insight into the side's preparation for Adelaide.
A disappointing loss on the weekend, how did you review the team’s performance?
We reviewed the game in great detail this week as there were definitely aspects of our performance we were very disappointed in on the weekend. However we strive to get better every day so alot of learnings came out of it which will only sharpen us up for the remainder of the season.
What will be the focus at training this week, to hopefully get back on the winner’s list on Sunday?
We went away from some of our offensive movement as well as needing to tighten up defensively so these are a key focus for training this week.
Aside from the result, it was a great day with a crowd of over 7,000 in attendance, how much energy does a crowd like what we had at Henson Park give the side?
It was brilliant to see so many fans come to support us and the AFLW on the weekend. It gives everyone a huge amount of energy out there and we can’t thank our fans enough for showing up and showing their support.
The Adelaide Crows sit at 4-2, what have you made of their season so far?
The Crows are a fantastic team and have been so for a very long time. They’ve got some seasoned campaigners as well as a lot of fresh faces and we are looking forward to taking them on this week.
Adelaide has a star-studded midfield; how do you quell the influence of Ebony Marinoff and Anne Hatchard?
As mentioned above players like Marinoff and Hatchard are seasoned and great players in the AFLW. We will be looking to get the job done as a unit with everyone having a role to play in order to make that happen.
