Matthew Pavlich was appointed the CEO of the Sydney Swans in 2025.

Originally from South Australia, he enjoyed a decorated football career in Perth where he played 353 games for Fremantle over 17 years. He was Fremantle’s best and fairest six times and a six-time All-Australian. Appointed captain at 24, he led the Dockers for nine years, ranking 6th all-time for games played as an AFL captain.

Off the field, Matthew has always valued hard work and education, earning a Bachelor of Science and MBA from the University of Western Australia. He also served as the President of the AFL Players’ Association and on the AFL Laws of the Game Committee.

After retiring from football, Matthew held media roles with Fox Sports and Channel 9, as well as having business interests in PMY Group and Launchd. ‘Pav’ and his wife Lauren have three children: Harper, Jack, and William.
