Sydney Swans star Isaac Heeney and former Swans CEO Tom Harley have both been nominated as finalists in the 2025 NSW Sports Awards.
Heeney, who this season won his second Bob Skilton Medal as the Swans’ Club Champion, has been nominated for Athlete of the Year. The 29-year-old starred for the Swans again in 2025, earning another All-Australian selection whilst averaging 24 disposals and almost two goals a game.
Harley, who recently ended his tenure as the Swans CEO after seven seasons at the helm, has been nominated for Administrator of the Year. Harley had been a key figure at the Swans since he took over as the General Manager of Football in 2014.
In another nod to the Sydney Swans, the AFLW Derby against the GWS Giants has also been nominated for Event of the Year. The match was played in Round 6 of the 2025 AFLW season at Henson Park and drew in a record crowd of 7,171 fans.
Sport NSW CEO, Stuart Hodge, congratulated all finalists across the 12 Award categories.
“The exceptional level of performances NSW sport has produced, both on and off the field of play, never ceases to amaze me. It is a true reflection of the dedication and hard work done by so many for so long as they aspire to achieve sporting excellence,” said Mr Hodge.
“The quality of Award category submissions this year is again outstanding, and we congratulate all finalists for their wonderful contribution to their sport, and to NSW sport more broadly.
“These worthy finalists in each Award category have excelled at the highest levels and they join an illustrious alumnus of great NSW Sports Awards finalists who have served themselves, their sport and the state with distinction,” added Mr Hodge.
The 2025 NSW Sports Awards are the highest sports honours in NSW. The 12 category winners will be revealed at the prestigious NSW Champions of Sport Ceremony at The Sydney Event Centre – The Star, Pyrmont on Monday, November 24.
