The AFLW home-and-away season concludes this weekend; however, with finals position and standings on the line, there is no shortage of drama to conclude the 11th season of the AFLW. Â
The final round gets underway in Geelong, who are still in the hunt for their first-ever minor premiership. The Cats take on 6th-placed Western Bulldogs, who remain in the four-team battle for the final top four spot and a home elimination final. If the Cats can down the Bulldogs, they will require current league leaders North Melbourne to drop points against 13th place Richmond on Saturday afternoon to claim the minor premiership. Â
Elsewhere, the Crows will be aiming to cause a late upset and climb up into the top eight on Sunday. If Hawthorn, who currently occupy eighth position, are unable to win at Mineral Resources Park against West Coast on Saturday, then the Crows could slide into the top eight if they can knock off third-placed Melbourne.Â
The Sydney Swans will bring the home and away season to a close when they take on Fremantle Sunday evening at Fremantle Oval. The Swans, who secured finals football last weekend, could go one step further and lock in a home elimination final if they are able to win their ninth game of the season and either Gold Coast, Carlton or Western Bulldogs drop points over the final weekend.Â
