The Sydney Swans are united with our community who are shocked and heartbroken by the tragedy that unfolded at Bondi Beach yesterday.
Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives or suffered injuries or trauma from the events that unfolded.
Bondi Beach is synonymous with the Sydney Swans, and our city more broadly. It is ordinarily a place of joy and connection.
This is a terrible time for the Jewish community. Our football club stands with you. There is no place for such violence in Australia.
We are working to support our staff and players who have been affected in their own ways, and we are also here to support our wider Sydney Swans family.
We extend our sincere thanks to all of the Police and NSW Emergency Services personnel who aided the victims yesterday, and continue to do so.
Sydney Swans CEO Matthew Pavlich extended his condolences to all involved.
“On behalf of the Sydney Swans we are deeply shocked and shattered with the heartbreaking events that transpired at Bondi Beach yesterday,” Pavlich said.
“Our players and staff attend Bondi Beach regularly and we are so well connected to the community that we feel their pain today.
“To our Jewish community, we are feeling for you and send our sincere condolences to all in your community. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families at this tragic time."
