The Sydney Swans VFL squad are set to be in action this Friday night at Tramway Oval in what will be their first practice match of 2026.

After their pre-season hitout against the GWS Giants last week was cancelled due to weather, the Swans reserves will get their chance to run out in a match against the North Shore Bombers, who play in the Sydney AFL Premier League.

VFL Head Coach Nick Malceski has named his team to run out including a host of AFL-listed talent. Hayden McLean, Peter Ladhams, Will Edwards, Joel Hamling, Caiden Cleary, Patrick Snell, Corey Warner and Will Green have all been included in the sided.

Draftees Harry Kyle, Noah Chamberlain and Liam Hetherton will get their first opportunity to take on an opposition in 2026, however Kyle and Chamberlain are no stranger to the VFL however, playing several games in 2025 as part of their development in the QBE Sydney Swans Academy.

Returning from last year's VFL squad, Nic Shipley, Pierce Roseby and James Tidemann will also make an appearance.

The VFL side will open the VFL season against the Box Hill Hawks in Melbourne on Friday, March 20.
