Sydney Swans AFLW defender Alice Mitchell has extended her commitment to the red and white, signing a one-year contract extension until at least the end of 2027.
Mitchell was drafted to Sydney with pick 13 in the 2022 AFLW Draft, and after missing the club’s inaugural season through injury, has established herself as a reliable defender.
The 24-year-old has gone on to play 33 games and placed sixth in Sydney’s Best and Fairest after a career-best campaign last year.
Sydney Swans Executive General Manager – AFLW Football, Kate Mahony, said Mitchell had become a key pillar of Sydney’s defence.
“We’re thrilled to have secured Alice’s signature for another year,” Mahony said.
“Her consistency and the role that she plays in our backline week in, week out is highly valued by the team.
“We look forward to seeing her continue to grow over the next two seasons.”
