Nick Blakey has claimed his first Kirk-Ward medal as Best on Ground in the Sydney Derby on Friday night at the SCG as the Swans defeated the Giants by 41 points in Sydney Derby XXXII.
Blakey was sensational across the park with 34 disposals and a goal, with his characteristic runs lighting up the SCG with the 26-year old also registering 882 metres gained.
Blakey (9 votes) claimed the medal ahead of teammate Justin McInerney (5 votes) and Giant Clayton Oliver (4 votes).
McInerney continued on his superb form with a 26 disposal game and also kicked two goals.
It was this week announced that former GWS Giant Callan Ward would join Swans legend Brett Kirk as namesake of Sydney Derby Best on Ground Medal.
