The Sydney Swans VFL side made it four wins in a row with a 17-point win over Casey Demons at Tramway Oval on Sunday afternoon.
The Swans held off a fast finishing Demons outfit to claim their fourth win of the season and currently sit fourth on the ladder, with only percentage keeping them from the top three teams (Geelong, GWS and Tasmania).
Caiden Cleary continued his good form with a 38-disposal game while ruckman Peter Ladhams backed up his career-best 40 disposal game last week with 31 against the Demons.
The Swans were quick out of the blocks with a seven goal opening term and added a further three before half time to be in control at the main break.
However it was an energised Melbourne side that came out in the second half, kicking five goals to two in the third term.
The Demons kept coming in the final term but were wasteful in front of goal, while the Swans two final quarter goals were enough to hold off the visitors.
Corey Warner (28 disposals and two goals) and Joel Hamling 27 disposals, including a game high 12 marks were also in the best for the Swans.
Joining Warner with two goals was Jevan Phillipou and Hayden McLean meanwhile Nic Shipley was again consistent and tenacious across the ground with 22 disposals and a game high 12 tackles.
The Swans next challenge is North Melbourne who sit two wins behind Sydney. The two sides will face off at Arden Street at 1.35pm on Saturday May 9.
