Sydney Swans defender Nick Smith has been placed on the club’s long-term injury list as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

Smith injured his hamstring tendon against Melbourne at the MCG in Round 21 last year.

The 30-year-old has been unable to return to full training and last week had a second operation to relieve some of the scar tissue around his hamstring.

Smith will be eligible to return to play in Round 14.
